## The ski area at a glance

Sever 1, Yug, Asker and Edelweiss: four pistes totalling 1,680 metres, served by surface lifts. The map shows those runs, lifts and their marked connections.

Confirm the day’s snow and operating lifts before arranging your ski day. The summer hiking routes are not winter itineraries.

Semkovo’s winter pleasure is its scale. On a good snow day, a few hours of turns fit neatly around life at Coliving. Four short pistes spread around the resort, served by surface lifts, give you a choice of blue and red terrain. Learn the sector names before buying a pass and match the slope to your skiing.

## Four pistes to choose from

The four pistes total **1,680 m**. Edelweiss is the shortest blue run; Asker mixes blue and red sections, while Sever 1 and Yug give confident skiers steeper red terrain. Snow, grooming and the day’s lift operation determine what is available.

| Run | Length | Grade | Lift |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| **1 · Sever 1 / North 1** | **500 m** | Red / difficult | Platter |
| **2 · Yug / South** | **500 m** | Red / difficult | Platter |
| **3 · Asker** | **500 m** | Blue/red | Platter |
| **4 · Edelweiss** | **180 m** | Blue | Rope/handle tow |

For a first lesson, arrange the instructor and teaching area before hiring equipment. Independent skiers should confirm which sectors their pass covers and how to move between them. A short red piste still demands confident turns and speed control.

## Lifts and connections

The four associated surface lifts are shorter than the pistes they serve:

| Lift | Length | Lift | Length |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| **Sever 1** | **400 m** | **Asker** | **300 m** |
| **Yug** | **440 m** | **Edelweiss** | **100 m** |

The topographic piste map above places all four pistes around Coliving, the university bases and Semkovo Hut. Solid coloured lines show the runs; dark dashed lines show the lifts. Orange dashed lines mark the retained links between Edelweiss, Yug and Sever 1. Use a connection only when it is prepared and open, and confirm where it brings you out before leaving a sector.

## A Ski Day from Coliving

Check the day's snow and working lifts, then agree your transport to the chosen sector. Hire boots that fit, a helmet and appropriate skis; book an instructor if you are learning or returning after a long break. Confirm the lesson language, the pass's coverage and the last lift before leaving the rental desk. Several lift schedules include a midday break, which is worth building around lunch.

As a planning allowance, budget **around €20 for a day pass and €15 for ski hire**, with lessons extra. At the rental desk, check whether boots, poles and a helmet are included.

Local slopes suit a few hours of skiing between other activities. **Bansko** is the larger regional outing for a ski-focused day or week. Snowshoeing and ski touring need separate equipment and route decisions: the summer lake and ridge routes in this guide do not become winter itineraries simply because snow covers the path.
